Compression tested my '87 TII today
Hey guys,
I did a compression test on my 1987 TurboII today. Test was done w/ a compression tester that had been modified for a rotary by removing the valve so you didn't have to hold it open while cranking it over.
So here are the results:
front rotor: between 110 - 105 psi, 3 even pulses (leading plug hole)
rear rotor: between 110 - 105 psi, 3 even pulses (leading plug hole)
Car has 100,500 original miles on it. I bought it @ 54k original miles about a year and a half ago pretty much bone stock w/ Ronal wheels that were powdercoated the chasis color.
Mods that I have done or have w/ friends that have been on the car for about a year or so:
Engine Related
- Racingbeat REVII turbo-back exhaust
- S5 turbo and manifold (ported wastegate)
- GReddy profec-B spec 1 boost controller
- GReddy VII boost gauge
- removed air pump
- dual alt pulley
- GReddy fmic kit
- HKS SSQV bov
- Rtek 1.5 ECU
- Exedy clutch
- Intake
running 10psi
Suspension/ Tires
- Bilstein full coilovers
- Mazdatrix rear camber bar
- BF Goodrich G-Force sport tires
- Hawk HPS pads all around
I have some really bad exhaust leaks on the rear cover of the turbo and the other day started sound like it was "camming" <- closest reference to explain it. lol. or lobing like it was ported. Especially in 1st gear or idling. Could this be that leak getting worse or a vacuum leak that sprang up and has gotten bad? It sounds pretty strange and just started the other night.
anywho, just thought I would share.
