compression problems

Hi, I am a new member to this website and i'm pretty new to rx7's. Anyways I bought this 88 T2 a couple of months ago and I started having some problems.
First of all the idle, it idles to low and sometimes dies when I stop. I tried adjusting the idle at the BAC but it didn't seem to do anything. It is also having flooding problems, which I knew was normal for rx7s, thats why the guy before me installed a fuel cut switch. But the other day when we left wendys it started right up, but at the first stoplight it died do to low idle and it would not start again. I guess it was just flooded real bad or something. Then these kids came that i guess had rx7s and said that it could have low compression. We finally got it roll started, and the next day I checked the compression and I was getting about 90 on the front rotor and about 30-35 on the rear. I couldn't believe it could be that low on the rear. Supposedly the motor is rebuilt and has 80-90k on the rebuild. Like I said I'm new to rx7s so any advice would be appriecated. Do I need a rebuild, and if so would the jdm t2 motors last, or should I by a rebuilt one or try and rebuild it my self?

Sucks dude

Hey man it looks like you ned to look into an engine rebuild. My RX7 use to die off at an idle like that (87 n/a). You know just at random times. When was the last time you got your car a FULL tune up? I changed out my plugs, wires, intake, etc. It seemed to go away with the intake though. If you don't have time for a tune up drive the hell out of your car for a while like 200 miles or so. It will kill your gas but mine seemed to stop idleing off at the stop light. I guess it fixed the problem but the intake could have helped it since it was breathing better. I hope that you will find the answer to your problem soon. Good Luck and welcome to the world of Rotaries!!!
