Arrow Complete New Suspension Install..Am i missing something?

Hey guys,

I am doing my entire suspension system. The first wave of new stuff consists of the following:

1. KYB AGX

2. Eibach Springs

3. KYB Dustboots

4. Tokico Strut Mounts

5. Falken Ziex 512 (which are installed and just rotated)

I was getting ready to start putting everything together today and i came across something that i was not aware of before. There is something called "Spring upper seat" as classified by the Haynes Manual. The one on my car is totally shot and i would never install this old peice of junk with 4 new toys. So i looked up on the parts catalog and found these part numbers in relation to the Spring upper seat. Just wanted to confirm i have the right parts. A pic of the old assembly is attached, its the portion between the spring and the strut mount (mounting block)

Spring: FB01-34-341
Rubber: FB01-34-012

I check mazdatrix and the rubber costs $14.64, but cannot find the pricing for the Spring.

Also since i havent taken off the rear yet, i wanted to have all the peices i needed. I have this peice (red arrow), and the stopper, but dont have anything that resembles the strut mount for the front in the rear called the Mounting plate. What am i missing so i can get it all now and be done with stage 1 of my suspension upgrade.

Rear picture

Which are the rear peices that i need?

Thanks

Looks good! I just replaced all that too! You will have a issue with adjusting the rear camber though since the springs will lower the car a touch. I opted for the racing beat adjustable rear link ti fix it. The only other thing I replaced in addition to everything you have there is the sways and 28-016B in the parts breakdown you show. I didn't know if I was going to need them or not but I figured the rubber is 20 years old so... might as well. I used the same strut mounts as you and the upper spring seat is the part that tokico sells as the rear mount. They also include 28-030 but I think that's all, you have to reuse 28-050.

One thing I can't stress enough when doing this is to remember to reuse the metal caps that are on the top of the rear bumpstops!! If you discard them as waste you WILL regret it!!

Thanks for the reply. For the bumpstops, are your referring to the spacer that goes inside the dust boot? I was just going to buy new ones. Im going to buy two new 28-050

I'm refering to part number 11 on page 13-15(page 16 in the PDF) here:

http://www.teamfc3s.org/main/factory...SUSPENSION.pdf

If you fail to reinstall this part you may just kiss your rear speakers goodbye.

I too have just redone my suspension and i would highly recommend you to replace you bushings. I have seen some kits out there for the FC for only like a couple of hundred.

If you look in the sixth pic from the top. He has already purchased an Energy Suspension bushing kit. He's all over this! I've got respect for people who spend a little extra time and money to do things right the first time. Good luck changing everything over!

hey iluvmy86, thanks for the recommendation, i have purchased the ES complete kit off ebay for like $100+.

Yeah roughsex i would rather do it right the first time then have other problems pop up. I wish i woulda found out earlier bout those other lil peices, but with the help of everyone here i found out more stuff to get. Once i get all my new lil bushings and stuff from Ray i will finish the suspension install. Then shortly after when i get more $$ i will get my bushings installed. Then after that my brake upgrades.

I love to drive fast and it seems that every time i take out the 7 (usally at 3am), im doing many 120mph runs. And it handles fine with the old suspension but would rather be safe than sorry =)

Cant wait not to feel these potholes in the city. Then i can take my car to school and not have to worry bout the potholes in harlem and on the FDR drive.

Any more suggestions i will take em, thanks

Took me a second to figure out but, I know exactly what your referring to. Mine didn't fit in the cup either...not by hand anyway. I just went ahead and assembled them as if the did fit and assumed that the bumpstop may be forced into the cup at some point. Honestly though, I doubt it makes a difference.
