codes 12 and 20
OK, I got these two codes 12 and 20 today. I know what they mean:
code12-throttle sensor/full range-broken wire or short circuit
code 20-MOP positioning sesnsor- broken wire/short circuit
Does this mean that I must replace these items or merely adjust/test/repair them?

I get 12 and 18 which solely rely on the TPS which alone is a beasty peice o ****. This is what I did and I need some help. Ok turn on car, let it sit and warm up. 20 min pass, than I turn off than turn car onto "on" position (all lights, not running). Run around, unhook the tps from the holder...I own a 89 GXL, stick the red probe into the back of the thing, red on green and black on black.....nothing. I than unplug it, nothing. Than I try the thing that it was plugged into...nothing. WTF!!! This is a multimeter from radio shack that Hailers told me to buy. I think I need some help. I would like to get some help so anything would be cool. I actually have been trying to set it for a while. IF say I was to shell out the 294 for a new one, would I STILL need to calibrate it? Thanks guys.

turboGXL:
I am unsure about code 20, but as far as 12 goes, try adjusting/setting it first. Clear the ECU and drive around for a while and see if you get the code again after resetting the ECU.
Gefunk:
If you bought a new TPS, you'd still have to set it. As far as setting it goes, it has to stay plugged in. If you unplugged it, you wouldn't be getting any voltage on the data line (1-5v). You really have to cram the probes into the harness to get readings...and make sure the ground you are using for the meter is good (test w/battery).

I got rid off the code 12 simply by replacing the TPS and readjusting it. But the code 20 still bothers me, I've been running premix to be safe but still what's up on this OMP, I need to disable it if I'm going to continue running premix. But I don't want the ECU showing it is failing because that is going to screw my Fuel ratios up.
I think...

GEFUNK.....Look at the jpg I'm attaching. The jpg is out of the manual. See where I've put green dots around the Narrow and Full range values??? This is with the engine at idle. All connectors hooked up. Black lead on a good ground. Red lead in the back of the plug at eithere the *A* pin for the narrow range or the *E* pin for the full range. As you can see you should see approx .8vdc at the pin *A* and approx 1.0vdc at the pin *E*. If not, adjust to the url I attached in one of the above posts.
