Code 17
Background:
Replaced OMP and the ECU it fried. Check engine light flickers completely at random. Sometimes I can retrieve this code other times the CEL turns off and stays off when checking it, again completely at random, have not cleared the code either. When the light flickers, I have noticed the clock goes out and stays out. Pull the code and if it gives it to me, the clock will come back on during the next restart.
I have searched and the answer seems simple. O2 sensor. It can't be that easy can it. If it is, I must be in denial. Is there anything else that needs to be checked/tested while I'm in there replacing the O2? I plan to get a header so would it be wise to wait and replace the O2 when I swap in a header? I drive this car maybe 10 miles a week just to keep the battery up. The one concern I have is the clock going out. Is it another warning system that is telling me a code is stored or cold joints that are going out coincidentally?
Thanks
Kane

I'd fix the 02 when you do the header job. I'd think you'd have easier access with the old header out of the way. Like the man said, the clock is PROBABLY just a cold solder joint at the jack on the Warning Light Cluster, not related to the 02 in anyway.
