Clutch recommendation please
I am making some pretty significant modifications to my car soon and i want to get the right setup.
I plan on running the stage 4 BNR turbo, FMIC, 1000cc injectors, walbro 255 and an Rtek 2.1. Im shooting for 400 whp.
Im pretty sure i will be using the Fidanza lb flywheel.
I have been looking at the zoom stage3 clutch. Is this going to be good enough for my setup or should I be looking at another clutch?
Any thoughts on the matter are greatly appreciated.

I have a Centerforce Dual Friction and love it. soft and easy at low revs, grabs harder the higher the revs. Best of both worlds.

sprung or unsprung clutch disc? I can see how sprung would be more gentle and the spline would last longer and there would be less drivetrain shock but what performance aspects would I be losing by going this route?

I have read that the unsprung clutches wear out the splines, generally how long does this take.
Also I have heard about sprung clutches throwing the springs eventually.
Also what exactly is chatter?

im pretty sold on the hd pp
Im just cant decide on the sprung or unsprung
I need some one to say
"dont get an unsprung I had one and it was horrible to drive now I have a sprung and it is way better"
or
"dont get the sprung I had unsprung before and it is for pussies, unsprung is the way to go"
Has anyone had experience with both?

Yeah. If I had to do it all over again, if get a spring 6 puck act. I have the unsprung 6 puck and its tough to manage in traffic. That clutch is like an on\off switch. It jumps when you engage. I chirp tires a lot with out trying. Then again if you don't... You might stall out. From a stop that is.

are there any problems like this with rx7s
http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f213...arning-375501/
Basically they are having problems revving higher than stock with the sprung clutch and act is not denying the problem and instead recommending the unsprung but still noting that it will wear out the splines.
knowing that I rev up to 8000rpms easily I was just wondering if there were any reported problems within the rx7 community?

This was in the first post of the link you posted.
***UPDATE*** WE still had the problem after switching to the RIDGED/unsprung clutch disc so we sent the CUTCH PLATE itself back to ACT. So an engineer inspected it and found some loose clips of some sort inside. ACT stood behind the product 100% they rebuilt the clutch plate and even paid return shipping.
I can now power shift again with ease so far no problems
