![Question](https://www.rx7club.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
When starting up cold, and when the clutch is pressed, my '86 is making a sound like a buzzsaw sawing wood. After it has been driven for a couple minutes, the sound no longer occurs when the clutch is pressed.
Obviously, transmission-based... has anyone else experienced this and how major is it??? Or is it something simple?
Thanks for your help!

I'd head for the throw out bearing. Although it's sealed and self lubed, more prone to dryout and lock due to ambient heat.
A bad pilot bearing would start to bind the tranny mainshaft (input shaft) keeping the main shaft at Eccentric shaft RPMs with the clutch depressed. This in turn effects synchro in the gear box and makes 1st/Rev gear shifting hard. You'd hear it all the time too since its a non load effected bearing.
So if shifting is okay head for the throwout
Hope this helps
