clogged cat

ok here is the deal, my inspection runs out this month so I have to swap out my 3'' dp/mp and put back on my stock cat and pre cat. Well Part of my split air pipe from the air pump is cracked. Do I really need to keep the air pump on if I'm only going to have the cat/pre cat on for 1 day a year. I was also thinking....if I did start clogging the cat, I know it creates a lot of backpressure. But would this also give me a even better chance of passing emissions if there is less flow through the tailpipes?
Remember I'm a so no flaming

heh well they won't know that my split air pipe just blows air onto the ground below my car. lol it was rusted when I bought the car. I fixed it, but when I put on my mp/dp I just ripped half of the air pipe off. I know that running around with no air pump will clog my cat, but will it hurt it's effeciency in taking out the crap from my exhuast that stupid EPA cares about in the state inspection.

lol after re reading I apologize for my lack of coherency.

I'm guessing you'll swap in the crap cats and take it in to get emmissioned immediately.. So by then it shouldn't even affect it.

hmm you should be able to get away with it. just depends on how strict the place is. i would say go totally 100 percent stock then u wont have to worry about fauling.

the cats are fine with no air pump... don't know why everying thinks they will clog.

however you'll need the air pump too pass, you won't come close without it.

you could leave the split air pipe off, it only moves air in 5th gear anyways. but you'll have to block off the hole on the cat.
