Its funny how you guys think that the only cars with thsoe tailights are Altezas/IS 300.

Lexus uses those lights on HALF of thiers cars/trucks. Nissan uses them on 2 cars I think.
Mazda is goan stat using them (RX-8 will be 1st).

Face it, some people actualy like them, so cars will suply them based on Demand. Suply and Demand is a simple concept. (e.g. Your GF Demands Sex, you suply )

I think thaey look good as long as they match the car, and dotn look out of place. I'm with some of you about not puttign ALL clears on the RX-7 but Thsi is what I wouldnt mind:

Leaving the 2 top RED light, and changing the Orange to clear like the back up light. (Think of the Civic SI, and the older preludes) Yeah so what if their Hondas, that design (red stripe/clear stripe) still looks good I think. And the S4 light are perfect for that set up.

Funny how when S5 light come up, you guy dotn EVEN THINK About the Ford Thunder bird. Soem of you know what I'm talkign aobut. S5's still look good to me, even though to some its nothing but a copy of a FORD, yes I said it damnit, FORD Design.

wether you like them or not, to say they aonly look good on a is300 is kinda rediculous. What a stroke of farfetched luck it is that that happens to be the originator of them! Zepplin plays the best version of stareway, and most bands covering it dont sound good, but to say it ONLY sounds good when Zepplin play it is a little closeminded, even if it is fucked up 98% of the time. Thats a fair analogy IMO. And to say dont ruin your car cuz I drive the same model is equally rediculous, another analogy-"OH man dont paint your ranch style house flourescent green because I too have a ranch style house!". I can honestly say that I HATE a lot of the closeminded attitudes on this forum, if it wasnt for the good info on this forum I would never come here. Just too many "I personally dont like that so YOU are an idiot" statements.

Sorry, but my opinion still stands, I think they only look good roughly on a Lexus....

bashing and expressing your opinion about something that might look like **** (rather not like ****) but not as good, I'll express it. THEY DO NOT have to take my advise.

I agree.
I have known about those tailights for over a year, IF I WAS GOING TO PUT THEM ON MY CAR THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THERE BY NOW!! I just ******* hate when other people bash you for having an opinion different from theirs.

Hey all,
Is there any one who has seen a clear taillight setup
for 86-91? If so, who sells em, how much?
If not, why are they leaving those of us with 2nd gens
out of the equasion? Surely we do have cars well
wothy of these lil trinkets.
I was just answering the original question that Nocept1 had posted. Some of you need to grow up, and remember that this forum is for helping people out, not bashing them for their opinions.

I wouldn't try clearcorners either I have emailed them 3 times about getting things from them and I have gotten no reply back. And I think clear rear light might look good if done right. but that is me

I don't know about you guys (and gals), but when I see fellow RX-7 owners in the Metro Detroit area (a rarity), I honk and wave. Why? Because when you own an RX-7, you're driving one of the most unique things on the road. The first time I rode in my friend's 7, I just looked at the Tach and said, holy ****, this thing is badASS! You shouldn't have to pretend and fit in like the other "styles." The Rice Boy look has caught on around here, and people are just plain afraid to race. I know a kid that put a boost gauge on his car, but doesn't have a turbo... Of course, people have different tastes, I mean, look how people dress :P But I mean, save your money for S5 lights, those really DO look good :-D

Geez

Let me settle this. Altezza lights on an RX-7 would look plain gay. Did you not see the picture posted of them? Can you imagine that on the RX-7? It's your opinion if you want them or not but please don't do it thinking you're cool or something. It's f*cking ridiculous. IMO, the only way they look good is on a black or yellow IS300. On a white one they look overdone and a little cheap. On hondas and other cars they look like half-assed jobs and you can easily tell its a mod. I mean, if someone is going to do an exterior mod at least try to make it look like a quality job so that people can't tell its a mod. Like I've seen so many half-assed bodykits that look like someone replaced the original part with a piece of plastic. That's supposed to look cool and better than the stock quality metal piece? If you're going to buy a bodykit make sure its good material (not cheap looking) and installed properly and securely. There's nothing that pisses me off more than seeing bodykits that arent molded to the body or that look like they're falling off or not secure. If you want to look like a clown go ahead and get some altezzas. You'll get no respect from real racers, just the wannabe racers whose faces are stuck in an import magazine all day talking about the stuff they'll get "one day". It's your choice. I think the main reason people don't like altezza is because they make your car look CHEAP. There's no way around it, your car doesn't look like a quality car with aftermarket altezzas on it. It just looks like a cheap mod. Sometimes they don't even look like they fit correctly on the cars I've seen them on. Clear corners are different from altezzas however. Clear corners would look fine depending on what colors you got them with. Don't get clear corners with red. Leave your lights stock. It matches more. Get clear corners with white/black/silver/yellow/blue. That's just my opinion. But don't mistake clear corners for altezzas. Altezzas are those cheap plastic piece of crap looking lights with little red round pieces of plastic and tin foil that are supposed to make you look like a racer. Clear corners just replace those stock yellow/red light covers that make your car's color scheme not match with everything else. Clear corners actually make your car more stylish and things blend in better. And another thing, imo (not sexist or anything) the only people ive seen to really like altezzas are girls. Maybe because they think its cute or something. To tell you the truth, I'd rather drive a van than be caught dead in a Honda with aftermarket altezzas. There, I said it.

its the same with a lot of posts...if you have something good to say about something then say it, and if you have omething bad to say about something Still SAY it! because we all like to know what eachother thinks about our ideas or what we like. but the problem is that some of you people post your opinions in a way that is totally RUDE, OFFENSIVE, and sometimes IGNORANT, among other things.
Please, if you have a comment on something, give it in an objective view, rather than just another ******* trying to forcefeed his opinion to the masses. keep your comments simple and honest, as if you were actually speaking to the person you are posting about.
my .50 cents!

It seems that most of you missed the original question. "Is there any one who has seen a clear taillight setup for 86-91?" It did not say "Would everyone please IMAGINE what a clear light setup would look like then tell me what you think of your IMAGINARY taillights?" Untill someone has seen them on a car you are working with theory only. Anything done well will look good. If a clear light kit is designed to be more effective (transmits/reflects more of the appropriate color light) then it will probably look very good. Also, if it is smoother (even in back aerodynamics are important) it may be deemed more effective. Form follows function. Thus the shelby cobras being among the most beautiful cars built. Pure function equals pure form.

Well the difference is that it has the 89-91 setup, but it is 2 red circles with 1 Amber one on the right with nothing else lit up. And the cover isn't red looking its clear. Much cooler that what we have. IMO

I think you are talking about the GTS covers. IMO, I think they would only look good on a black car unless all the other lights were tinted.
