clear coating my tail lights.

i just bought a set of round tails and it has a lil crack on it and some scratches...(damn shipping) well i wanted to add maybe two layers of clear coat to try cover it up a little and give it a lil shine....any ideas on how to approach this? thanks

Yep, I did exactly that. I work in a Body Shop and all i did was 3M grey scotched (like brillo pad) the light to take the sine off then get it 2pack clear coated at your local shop.

I did mine about 2 years and i've not had any problems it makes them easyer to clean to.

I was considering putting clear coat but I opted to wax them! After washing them I waxed them twice over. The towel was Black after that. They came out really nice and they turned out pretty cool looking when the taillights are on at night.

You could try this first before clear coating them. I used Mother's Carnuba Wax. Excellent products....
