Cleaning suggestions?
It is starting to actually get cold here in NC, and looking for winter projects while the RX is parked.
It seems my trans shift tunnel still has way too much fluid in it, since even after fixing the sins of the previous owner, and replacing shift bushings, and boots it still bubbles trans fluid from the seal that bolts to the trans. The seal is tight, and the fluid is only barely at the bottom of the lower bushing.
The engine bay is a mess, under the car looks like it has the 130+K miles on it. This car needs a good cleaning top to bottom. So what is the best way to clean all the grease/grime from the engine bay and underbody? For the interior I can still smell gear oil, so steam clean the carpet?? I get jealous of the pics i see with the nice looking underhood, everything nice and clean, intake shiny all the wires are multi-color and not just black with grime. I think I may replace the factory airbox with a junkyard replacement if i can find one, the old air filter was in there so long that the gasket around the filter actually melted into a pool in the bottom of the airbox.
Any ideas?
Pete
