Talking checking injectors?

i've been having a hard start problem for a while, I bought a new tps and adjusted not the problem...If the tps is in spec, it will not hold an idle...If I adjust the tps in it will idle fine, but the check engine light will come on and it will buck during low rpm deccelaration.

It also is a bitch to start.

Basically starting and idle probs. I've done compression check, not it....It runs and pulls HARD, no questions there...replaced fuel filter, plugs, wires, checked fuel pressure.

The only thing I could think it is is a leaky injector? or something of that sort. How does one go about checking for some sort of injector problems? or is there any dump in solutions that can midly remedy the problems?

Well, you can check to see if an injector is actually functioning by using a stethescope. I have heard of people removing the secondary fuel rail while the car is running (secondaries are the ones that usually leak) to check for leaks, but that sounds like a really dumb idea to me. Really, just remove all your injectors and have them cleaned and balanced and then reinstall. If the problem goes away, it was your injectors.

isnt that kinda of an expensive way to just see if they were working or not? (i dont know what prices for cleaning and balencing injectors are, but im sure its not cheap). I would say use the stethescope and just listen for clicking (im pretty sure you will have to have it reved past ~4k for the secondaries to kick in) or you can use a long screw driver and press the pointy end on the manifold and then the handle right on your ear and listen, its a little harder but i have gotten it to work on my Mustang before. Good luck man.

It's kind of expensive, but odds are they need to be cleaned anyway. Note that revving past 3800RPM won't guarantee your secondaries will open. The secondaries are also based on airflow through the AFM, and the load the engine is seeing.

FWIW, most 2nd gens need an injector cleaning.

The only real annoyance is that the upper intake needs to come off to get at the primaries. But this is good, because it means that you can replace all that leaky vacuum hose while you're down there.
