i was doing a compression check on my N/A and it came out with 96psi in the front rotor and 94 in the rear rotor. but that is not really my question, my question is i have a turbo II engine and i checked compression on that, i took out a spark plug and heard 3 chugs in each rotor. i then hooked up the compression gauge and it read 10psi tops on each. i put some 10 weight oil in the leading spark plug hole to try and lube up the seals and came out with 60 psi in each rotor. i did all that in about 10minutes and i was wondering if i would install it in my car and start it up do you guys think i could get higher compression then that?

60's kinda low, man, if you're doing it by the book (warm engine, all that jazz). You really want to go to all that trouble to install a low compression engine in the car?

Was the 60 number the result of turning the engine by hand, or with starter?

i was using a starter and the engine had been sitting around since i had it shipped to me 2 months ago. when we first cranked it over without doing anything like putting oil in combustion chamber to try and lube up the seals bam practically right away we kept getting better compression but we figured that if we put it in the car and start it up it will get its compression back since it has been sitting for awhile unless it has a bad seal. we havent been able to start it because it is still sitting on a pallet so i am hoping if it is started and warmed up then run clean gas through it and do everything by the book it will be fine..i hope.

well... i wouldn't do it. considering the labor and all. compression doesnt just magically restore... it may go up a few psi with some mmo and love. but thats about it.

My J-spec had low & uneven compression, especially on the rear rotor.
On its initial test 80-60-60 & 85-80-80.
After idleing 20 minutes, then a short drive, it smoothed right out.
Two weeks later I got 95's & 90's

i am going to have to think about this one because the more we worked on it the better the compression got but working on it for about 10mins just cranking over the starter and putting a little oil in the combustion through the spark plug hole we went from 0psi up to 30 then got 60psi when we decided to stop.
