checking afm

alright finally got my 88 n/a running but it idles like its pulsating. there are no vacuum leaks, none at all checked everything and even took the fan off and ran smoke in the engine compartment to see if there was any leak at all...no leaks. but i made one of the ecu checkers and came up with code 2, the afm. i took it off and it's not rubbing anywhere. i looked up everything thing on here about how people checked them electronically but i have no idea how. can someone please tell me how to do it because i dont have 900 bucks for a new one...
