Check these mods

(Messed up on the title, i ment Check these mods. Brain fart.)

Im looking into a t2 for sale and just need to get some input on daily driving this thing. How does this mod list sound for a dd? Considering fuel consumption and reliability.

Mods: 87 t2

apex'i bov
cone filter on afm adapter plate
optima redtop drycell batt
magnecor 8.5 mm wires with heat sleeves
oem BAC valve and oem TPS installed by previous owner
centerforce dual friction clutch
braided stainless oil cooler lines
braided stainless clutch line
s5 turbo
ported/polished wastegate
ported/polished throttle body with secondary butterflies removed
silicone vacuum lines
K&N fuel filter
new alternator
straight pipe exhaust with no name cans (sounds alright)
Racing beat downpipe/presilencer sitting in garage, will be installed soon
Fuel Cut Defender
Walbro 255 l/h fuel pump

Im hoping to get 500-600 km's to a tank, as where most stock fc's sit at. Some of this stuff im not familiar with so thats why im asking.

sounds fine to me man.. the only thing on that list that would really affect driveability is the clutch. not that its a bad thing, it just takes a while to get used to.

sounds fine, I'd get a fuel controller to lean it out when it's not under load and then add fuel to compansate for BOOST when you get on it.

Don't turn up the boost and remember "as the boost gauge goes UP, the gas gauge goes DOWN." You can actually see it happening if you mash on it long enough.

If you drive a lot then change the oil every 2500 miles, check your coolant levels/oil level every time you get gas. DD a TII is fun and easy when you do it right. If you drive it like 75% of the pepople here then you're not going to be happy.

P.S. I wouldn't listen to the texican above me. It would be better said this way: sounds like a fun, fire-breathing DD. love it, rev it, abuse it, then take care of it. I'd include him in the 75% of people that kill their cars due to lack of maintanance.

500-600kms?!?!? I used to to be hard pressed to get 320-350 kms(city) on my s4 n/a, and yours is a turbo which should do slightly worse

then i knocked out my first cat (which was clogged) and now i get 400 kms city.

If we talk about reliability then the TII isn't an issue. If we get into getting GOOD gas mileage then it's a whole different story.

if he drives it like a grandma then he'll get close to it but then it's not worth driving a 7 if you're gonna drive it like an 89 escort. IF MPG is your biggest concern then you chose the wrong car. On good days I was getting ~19mpg and on the fun days I saw as little as 10mpg. My NA can get 350mile per tank (still had 3 gallons left) on the HWY only so I don't see how you can get better in a TII.

Hehe....for all you guys that can't get 350 km on your tanks....I get 400 miles on my tan. Then again those are highway miles and I do have a larger fuel tank than you.

With my previous rx7 being a n/a, I probly got around 400km/tank if that. Not to mention the quart of oil I went through a week.. In a topic i seen the otehr day they were saying they get around 500km/tank must of been achieved by how you both explain being granny driving. I do know that t2s km/tank to decrease drastically as opposed to a n/a.

does the speed make a difference?

will 65mph waste less gas than 80mph? one part of me says yes but the other says no because of closed loop mode while cruising.

You'll never see 300miles per tank with city driving though.

Phoenix do you drive a t2? If so, approximately how many miles in your case could you get to a tank while city driving? I think you've already stated that but what about long distance driving? So lets say a road trip.

when I was DDing it I would drive a total of ~20 miles a day (to and from school, food, errands and crap) with an occasional 60 mile trip out of town to visit my friends and family.

I did that for a good 2-3 years and I've been working on my TII for the past 2 years now. I drive an NA as my DD while the TII gets worked on (it will be the other way around once it's done). As soon as it's done and ready for duty then I will get some new numbers.

Oh and if it matters: it was on a MAzda Reman (bad coolant seals) so I made sure I took care of it, especially after I beat on it (which is why I say 2500mile oil changes if you drive it like it's stolen)

Aight cool thanks....Yea without a doubt rx7's are hard to drive normally, you always have to accel its like cigarettes. Every 2.5k miles sounds on point, for me thats like 5k km's.

My 86 n/a exactly resembles having a baby. Every week literally I would have to put in a full quart of oil, and I was using not any ordinary oil, I was using Royal purple. It costed me 10 bucks a pop.

well if your REALLY concerned about mileage, buy a standalone that supports a few different maps. i have a map for my daily driving, just gettin from a to b, no boost or hard accel and a map for when i remember i have an rx7 ones a little leaner in a few spots like idle, decel, light loads when your engine is least likely to det. and the other map is richened up so i dont have to worry about anything except shifting.

This is the black S4 in Vancouver, with somewhere around 312,000kms isn't it? That car has been for sale for a LONG time, and his asking price is WAY to high. There's other TII's with lower mileage, and much more done to them selling for beneath $8000. If you're going to consider this car, barter hard with him to get that price down. Just an FYI, not bashing on it at all.

Edit* - Nevermind, I think it's the one up in white rock instead right?
