check engine light flickers on and off at random

the idle is all messed up but I got it down enough to drive it.

the check engine light is flickering on and off at random times but never stays on???

bad warning cluster or can the light actually come and go and signal a problem?

thanks

Mike

If there is a problem found, the light will go off & on. Suggest you pull the code and see what is the cause.

Goto a mechanic shop, otherwise I don't think you have the tools to do it yourself.

... I can't believe you're sending him to a mechanic to fix why a check engine light is coming on.

I can understand it if this was a lexus where the second you try to tamper with anything the Lexus mechnic police disable your ignition system and force you to a lexus dealer... but no.

This is an rx-7... most dealers in america cringe seeing our cars pull up because they dont know **** about them.

You barely have to be mechanicaly inclined to diagnose a check engine light. Going to a mechanic to get raped $500 for nothing is bull. Unless its a Lexus of course...

RETed has got an excellent writeup on his website for setting the S5 (adn S4) TPS. Goto fc3spro.org or is it fc3spro.com

Anyhow, click on.. I think its under the technical or how to section. You'll see it.
