The "Check Electrical System" Light

Hey all... Ok, I was just havin some fun and I took it to 8k in first, and I tried to shift TOO fast and ended up having the clutch out before it was in 2nd, and out came the loud grind... Only been driving a 5spd for 2 months, so I'm not the greatest at it yet, but I still shouldn't have done that.

Drove home 5 miles and it seemed to work like it always has, but when I pulled into my driveway I noticed the "Check" light, that was above a little sign that looked like a transmission.. I was like HOLY ****!

Good thing I found out it was only for the electrical system...

Question is: is this just a fuse or is it something more serious?

Thanks...

Sure that is not the check engine light??? I am not aware of a check tranny light or check electrical light (other than the charge failure when the alt fails to work properly).

A bad sensor, or broken connection, or loose wire could cause the check engine light to come on. The ECU would pop it on if it had a problem with something.

I recommend pulling the error codes to find out what the light was for.

Link is down...Damn good thing I saved the page. Pulling your ECU codes is easy. I think the procedure is outlined in the FSM.

I've checked in the Haynes manual AND the FSM for pulling ECU codes... can't seem to find it...
