yea, there is a silver kick panel shield bolted to the floor/firewall covering it. your passengers basically are stepping on it while seated.

yes, sometimes you come across great deals. a few customers got theirs for the $500-700 range used complete and i have found used powerFCs in good working condition for $450(same price as the Rtek), as well have seen E6K's for around the same price, wired to run second gens. the powerFC just requires the plug in adapter from banzai for another $275 making it almost more expensive but less complicated to install. but you buy used and you may wind up with junk, it's always a crap shoot.
