I just blew ou an apex seal and need a rebuild as well Im a little tight on cash but also want to do it right. How does the kit from hurly compare to say the one from atkins? The atkins kit I was looking at is the kit B. Any info would be great.

To "Chris81" and all who read this list --

Do not "shop" for the "cheapest" "rebuild" kit -
there is NO set definition of a "rebuild kit" !!

Different vendors include/leave out different parts -- which GREATLY changes the total price.

Our "rotor kits" are ALL the parts that go on rotors (not including the rotor bearings). A month ago, when this same topic was going on, I priced out what Rotary Revoution had in their "kit", and our total was something nominal like $5 cheaper. It is just their definition of "kit" is not like ours.
WATCH what comes in a "kit", NOT JUST THE PRICE.
All individual pieces/parts are pretty much available from all the vendors -- so add up the costs of EXACTLY what you need, then decide where to purchase them.

We decided long ago, that we would replace ALL!! the seals and springs on ALL!! engines we build -- it is not worth (to us) the substantial cost in time and parts to go back into an engine because someone wanted to try and "save a buck".

Many of our customers but partial "kits" -- meaning just the ones they deem necessary. That is quite alright -- because WE are not taking the gamble of having to do the job multiple times.

Anyway, that last bit was not why I was writing this -- again:
Watch what is IN a "kit", not the price for what a specific vendor decides to call a "rebuild kit".

Some one beat me to it, I was going to say to check out Atkins. They offer different kits depending on the mileage of you car. I think that they range from like $250 to $900.

I'm having to rebuild my engine. I'm looking at the Revolution Rotary kit...

New Basic Rebuild Kits include the following: Gasket Set, Rotor Bearings, Front Main Seal, Inner & Outer Oil O-rings, Main Bearings, Rear Main Seal, Apex Seals and Springs, Side Seal Springs, Corner Seal Plugs, Corner Seal Springs, and Thermo Pellet (13B 86 - ) All Genuine Mazda Parts.

Sound like it has all I need to just do the rebuild ( An oil seal went out, I lost most of the oil, stopped the car immediatly ) on a 80,000+ Mile engine?
