Changing out the stock air filter

Ok I recently bought me an rx-7, its an 86 non turbo and I was thinking about later upgrading it 2 a turbo but until i save up the money i was looking for other ways to increase my hp. I came across some of the racing air filters they got on ebay and so I went ahead and bought one. My friend helped me install it, and most of the casing for the original filter had to come off in order to make room for the new one, we quickly discovered that there was no connection for the air pumps hose. So how do I use this new air filter without disconnecting my air pump?

Go to autozone and buy the little breather for your air pump.
