Changing the LSD unit! Help!
Hi,
I just got the KaaZ 1.5way from drift-factory. Everyone tells me that i shouldnt be changing it myself. So how hard is it? Someone got a step-by-step? I have read the FSM and the operators manual from KaaZ. Didnt help me that mutch :P
What tools do i need? I have called around to many car-shops but non of em want to change it. I dont know if its the "Its a rx7" or "changing the LSD" that scares em of
Thanks
Sindre

He was saying he wants to get his LSD back in his car, so he can get rid of the open diff... Still not very relevant to the conversation though... But then again either was this... :p

OK since you don't seem to be getting much help, Ill offer what little I know.
Probably the reason that they didn't do it was a combo of the two factors you mentioned.
It shouldn't be anything too out of this world difficult. You will probably have to invest in a few mesaurement tools to set the lash but a local Autozone may even have ones you can rent (or buy and return 3 days later [not that anyone would do such a travesty]) But my knowledge is limited on the inner workings of our diff's, I've done sme work on solid axle ones before on our shop car (91 mustang 5.0 convertible) but I imagine the independants will be a different beast.
But Im sure with some reading on this site as well as fc3s.org (<--seen lots of TIIvs.N/A diffs there with god tech. info on the guts a while back) will turn up enough of the vital information to make this a DIY install.

The Cause of Death
I swapped the ring gear from a 5-spd open diff into an automatic LSD rear end... which retained the 5-speed gearing and gave me limited slip. Been having no trouble with it for 4 months now.
What exactly are you going to do?
PM me, maybe I can help.
Or IM me on AIM... spot skater.
