Question changing gauges?

Is it possible where the speedometer and rpms gauges are to tear that out and put in real gauges. Such as the Fd's guages. Not just the plastic light up that the fc has?

You're talking about a lot of work and/or money to pull this off, right?&nbsp A lot of the gauge inputs come off the stock ECU, so if you go aftermarket, you need to either adapt to the stock ECU signals (tricky) or run all new sensors and wires.

The tach is pretty easy to get and install.&nbsp The speedo is going to be a pain in the ***.&nbsp Oil pressure, water temp, boost/voltmeter shouldn' be that bad.&nbsp The gas tank level is going to take work, as you'll need to install a new gas level sensor and calibrate the unit so it reads correctly.

guage faces

Corksport has replacement guage faces for all years of turbo 2 cars. I have silver ones on my car with painted orange needles. Matches my 5 other Autometer ultralite guages exactly. Can get them in any color you want, Corksport will set you up. Cost 130 and take a couple hours to put in, have to be patient. If you have taken apart the cluster before, it may take you less, but i took my time. See the on www.corksport.com

I'm replacing all the gauges in my car with SPA dual gauges in the original console (custom-made backing plate), and a pillar-mount Autometer fuel level gauge. Like Ted said, it is expensive (I spent over $1,200), and the speedo is the most difficult gauge to install, although an electric speedo will be much easier to calibrate. Note that you will need new sending units for any gauges that you replace. The fuel gauge isn't so bad for me because I have an aftermarket fuel cell, but I don't know if it will be so easy to find a sending unit for the stock fuel tank.
