Changed my Front Differential Mount
I changed my front differential mount last night and it only took a little over 2 hours. Wasn't hard at all. I didn't even take off my exhaust and I still got it done. I thought I broke it at the drag strip the other weekend, but looking at it, it looks like it has been broken for a while and my trip to the track just made the mount a lot worse.

Yeah, I going to put a pinion snubber in eventually. I don't know how you guys can drive with a broken differential mount because it sounds like something is going to break through the car. I was scared my car was going to come apart when driving home when the thumping started.

Nothing to see here.
Broke the diff mount on my old car. It be a very loud, noticable "CLANG" whenn shifting gears. The rubber brick on the mount breaks allowing the diff to slam the bottom of the car when shifting.

You all know they make them tougher than OEM right?
Victoria British carried polyurethane mount and MazdaComp carries the more rigid ones. Yup....having a broken mount is irritating as hell. Too many hard launches and tire hop will do it.

riptyde, that sounds impossible! there wasnt enuff room for me to get to the lil bolts on the mount, how did u get all that space to fit in???? however i couldnt complete the job, i only got the rubber brick off, just how exactly did u do it, there has to be more than just 2 bolts to remove to get enough play space!!

Worn diff carrier bushings will also cause the front diff mount to shear.

long beach (90810) , near LA, u would travel to help out a fellow rotor head AND a noob out? wow thats impressive, and to think that u did this job by takin out only TWO bolts, is a bonus.
