Catalytic Converter was Plugged Up
My 1990 N/A Convertible had a plugged up catalytic converter. The exhaust is all stock. I removed the converter, gutted the interior and re-installed it on the car.
What effects, if any, will this have on an all stock engine set up? I did not notice any O2 sensors, are there supposed to be any?
It is a little louder, there is some popping between shifts or letting off the gas. The check engine light also flickers on and off but does not stay on.
Any input would be appreciated...

Other than being louder, allowing some backfiring if you let off the throttle abruptly, and having a little smellier exhaust, it's fine. The 02 sensor is on the exhaust manifold, and will continue to do its job.
You can see what the check engine light is coming on for, but there shouldn't be anything affected: http://www.johnr.com/cpucodes.html.
