Car's not stopping?!

Ok. So I already know that I need to change my brake rotors, calipers and pads. But when I was driving my car around the block, I couldn't feel any pressure in my brake pedal, while running, the pedal would fully press to the floor before I'd feel slight pressure. I checked my resevoir and there was no fluid. So I bled and added some. One week later there is no fluid? This has me thinking one of my lines has sprung a leak, can anyone else help me explain this? I have an 87 TII. The braking power is at the point where I'm going pull a flintstones and use my feet to stop!! Haha.

well its obvoisly a leak.... if you lose all your fluid in a weeks time... theres a leak.... its usually one of the rubber brake lines that are in the fender wells... it shoud be easy to spot the leak... just look throught the entire system till you see a wet spot...youll probubly have to have somebody constatly depressing the brake pedal, cause it probubly wont leak until its under pressure... good luck and i wouldnt recommend driving it till its fixed.. driving on faulty brakes is a hazard to everyone on the road

Yeah, I haven't driven it since. I inspected the brakes, but I have yet to find a leak in the lines. Hopefully I'll find it and get have it back to good health.

It could be a leaking master cylinder too, or maybe a leaking caliper. Also check the brake bleeders. When checking for leaks in the lines pay special attention to the joints. I had my clutch hose start leaking after I had the engine out. It was leaking right where the metal fitting is crimped onto the flex line.

No.

If the brake booster has failed, the pedal will be much harder to press. The pedal being very light, and or going to the floor indicates a hydrolauic (sp?) problem. Air in the system, leaky system, etc.

the MC could be leaking back in to the brake booster housing
