Care for wheel rotors / hubs + handbrake cable Q

Hello, how do you guys keep your hubs / rotor assemblies looking good with open wheels like the volks and BBS RZs? I'm thinking of getting a set of wheels like these and want the rotors and visible parts of the hub assemblies to stay clean looking, but am not sure how to do that. I'm thinking of painting my brake calipers too, unless people can convince me not to. Any comments before I plunge straight ahead into something?

Also, I tried removing my rear calipers but the damn handbrake cable won't come off (nuts are rusted on)... does anybody know the thread pitch of the screw that locks the handbrake cable to the caliper, so I can find a replacement that won't entail purchasing an entirely new handbrake cable from Mazda at the tune of $50?

Thanks much!

sorry i cant help you much with the technical stuff but one way to make your wheels/hubs look better is to trim back the tin shield around the disc. make sure to leave enough to prevent water/dirt from getting into the hub assembly. looks much better this way.
