Talking carbeurated 2nd gen

I BEAT A CARBEURATED ohh sorry 4 the caps carbeurated 13b. not jus beat him but smoked him from a stop and a roll so that ruled out carbeurating my car in my head . makes me think very badly of a carbeurator on a 13b . anyone have another experience?
ohh he has 3mm seals and hes on a 91 engine
lighter rotors!
wither my car was running good or his was running bad
lol i was confused.
ohh and it was a webber carbeurator with 2 msd 6aL ignitions.
peace

well I raced a 1st gen with a 13b swapped with a street port and we raced drag style with my 87 NA with header 3in exhaust K&N and lots of removed stuff and I whooped him in front of 2 of my friends that own fcS. Me and my 2 friends and the guy i raced are still wondering how I beat a car that is lighter has the same engine with a street port and is carbed. Someone tell me. He drives good too because I rode with him when he was showing me the car.

I also beat a carburated s4 a while back. At the time I dint know much bout cars but this is what I saw he had: exhaust, some kind of carburator, fuel pressure regulator, and his engine looked rebuilt (it was painted real nice). My s4 was stock with the exception of a race pipe. We went from a stop 3 times and all 3 times I took him out by like 2-3 car lenghts. Guy was mad and he swore my car had a crapload of mods. The look on his face after I popped the hood was priceless. Hehe. I'm pretty sure that he sucked at driving or his carb wasnt tuned right.

I would like to have a carbed FC someday. Maybe get a supercharger/carb setup

I would say the car wasn't tuned properly. You may get the jump of the line but you shouldn't pull away that easily. He has a few hundred pound weight advantage. Formula Mazda's running a sidedraft carb on a sealed stock port block make about 175HP and its all done with proper tuning. I'm all for fuel injection due to ease of tuning fuel delivery but a weber side draft does look good on a rotary.

Um, not nessisarily, it would be better if it was a blow through carb, or if the carb was before the turbo, then its fine. So long as the air flow rating for the carb is more than the turbo is putting out, then you are fine. To my knowledge werent all FBs in Japan 12A Carbed and turboed? I know for a fact alot of people that do circle tracks with 2.3LTurbo Ford blocks run turbos for simplicity and weight. I also saw a 500+hp 351Twin turbo carbed Thunderbird the other day in some paper, i forget where though.

if the 1st gen was a carbed 13b, he'd really need a 4 barrel/twin carb setup. I know a limited edition 12a owner who has this setup. VERY FAST!!!! - very good power/weight.

Consider yourself lucky, a well tuned carbed 2nd gen will be faster than a OEM ECU 2nd gen, considering everything else equal.

Maybe we got it timed correctly. Remember, it takes some time for the CPU to relearn itself, once something has been changed.

I am going to the NOPI show this Saturday and Sunday, I am going to enter my MP3. I almost have the DVD finished.
