Well, I'm probably the first to ask this question. I've been planning on putting a 13b into my Karmann Ghia for quite sometime now. But, I want to put a carburator on it instead of going with fuel injection. I plan on steet porting it and putting on a camden 5 inch blower on down the road. My question is how do I go about carburating the 13b? What parts do I need and what do I need to take off and put on? Also, will I still beable to supercharge it after the carburator? Thanks!

LOL, yeah, you are the first person to ask this question... today. FYI people have been putting carbs on a 13B since about 1973.

I think the Camden 5" blower is set up for a 650 Holley, which will probably be too big to use on an NA street engine. Check with Camden to make sure. You may want to go this route if you plan to use the blower later. Keep in mind that the stock Holley carbs are really lousy for rotary engines, and some modifications are required for a well-running race engine. If you just want to stick with a carb and no blower, the Weber setup is far superior to the Holley carbs.

I personally think that EFI is a better alternative, especially since the donor car and engine already have all (or most) of the EFI components in stock form. A simple swap to a 13BT engine would give you more power than a blower, and for less money, but to each his own. Here is a Camden EFI kit if you are interested:

what kind of carb did you want to put on it, i have a weber ida 48 on my 87SE.

You need to buy plugs for the fuel injection points on the housing. Atkins and racing beat sells them. I am installing a 7" supercharger with a 650 4 barrel carb. I ordered the carb from tpcracing.com. I will have it running in the next two weeks. I can let you know how it works out if you are interested.
