Carb on a turbo engine???

Ok, i want to run a 13b on my dune buggy. I do not want to run efi or an ecu because of all of the sand and water there will be. Is it possible to run something like a 750 holly on a turbo engine? I have seen it done before, just wondering what you guys think. Or i can go with the Microtech Lt8 for 350 more than the carb setup. But then i would have to build a water proof box for the ecu.

Search the 1st gen forum for boost prepping a carb. Many first gen people do it as they like ancient technology.

Doing a carb properly cost more than some of the cheaper EFIs like haltech/microtech etc.

Now i am planning on running the microtech, should i run with stock ignition or should i run a msd ignition?

Also i will probably need to run an ic will the stock intercooler suffice?

Stick with the stock ignition.

Your intercooler needs will depend on how you have things set up. If you are running stock boost and will have good airflow to the engine, then the stock IC will do fine. If you are cranking the boost then moving to a larger intercooler places out in the airstream will be a good idea.

So carbs are better in the sand? I would think efi would be better, no?

EFI is better. Now does anyone have a exhaust manifold for this engine?

I have a S4 turbo and manifold in my garage.... I'll sell them to ya!

turbo has 15k on it.

Carbs are no fun offroad, they choke on inclines...

Correct! Even a cheap stock s4 ecu and efi set up would be better then going carb.
