Question carb converstion

Has anyone changed to a carb on a 1987 rx7. If so what are the up and downs, and is it worth it?

downs:
worse gas milage/emissions
have to buy the carb and manifold to put it on

ups:

cheaper in the long run to add more fuel for HP than buying fuel injectors and a fuel controller
easier to tune for old geezers and mechanically inclined(as opposed to electronically inclined)

i'm sure there is stuff that i missed, but i'm having a hard time thinking right now

Your going to get terrible gas miliage right off the bat. A carb setup on a rotary will yeild alot of horse power right out of the box, the number one restriction on the stock intake system is the AFM (what your intake filter connects to)

You can get alot of power, cheap from a carb
you can get alot of power, alittle more expensive, but save as money with a Fuel Injected system (wolf 3d, haltec, ect..ect..(some other standalones)

So the choice is yours, i like carburators, only cause my first rotary came with one, but i'd rather spend a couple hundred extra for a standalone system, getting rid of the stock intake manifold/throttle body, and replacing it with a nice airhorn intake setup..
