I was just thinking the same thing.

Why not just look for one with a blown engine if you're doing the swap?

^^ there ya go. Your looking ot put a motor in one anyway. There are a lot of clean verts that need motors for $680

That's my only point (but my hair covers it well)

I just went and looked at this car. it is PERFECT. the guy was a freak about taking care of it, 100% OEM, always garaged, everything works perfect on it. he has every reciept for everything that had ever been done to the car. just over 82k (his wife listed the car for him, haha). the chassis is perfectly straight, no rust anywhere, it's amazing.

I took a few more pics:

Seems like an awesome car.
6k is a bit much for me but if you can afford it go for it. I'd get a comp check tho.

That is a very clean car, worth every penny in my opinion. I don't think it will last too long on the market.

A 1991 Vert with less than 25,000 miles went for $10,500 on Ebay. The car was flawless and could have easily pased for a new vehicle.

The premium over book probably due to fact it was last year of production and may possibly be the lowest mile vert in USA.

Hmm, I'm right north of atlanta.

I see verts more often than I see coupes. There is a nice cherry red one w/ 37000 miles near me, and that paint looks fresh. I paid $2000 for my coupe gxl (no leather or cool 11lb bbses but still cool. I by far wouldnt pay $6500 for it. There was a nice converti @ the atl scca autox, other than some greyed seats it looked very nicely kept.

You're not as leet as Kevin Landers either, just have to express that to you. If it is bone stock, where is the sub zero start assist bottle? Also where is airbox sticker?

It does look clean, if you're willing to pay $6500, please do, it will increase the value of my car.

Get it if thats what you want, but I still kinda think that you could find a blow engine very clean vert for cheap. It makes more sense then hacking up a mint one, just my opinion though.

i think it is worth and if i had the money i would buy it. i got my 88 vert with 80k for $3,000. i thought that was a steal. it is not spotless thought, carpet was slightly stained, the little black window sills on the door are rusted and it didnt have the stock BBS wheels. engine ran perfectly although the oil cooler lines are leaking now. the body was flawless though, paint was like glass and the top looked great and came with the cover.

What I meant by hacking it up, is taking a NA car that has been obviously babied and has only the best parts available for the car as it stands now. One with a blown engine to me at least seems the most logical. Since then 99% that stuff related to the engine will be removed. So all that mint OEM stuff doesn't mean ****. And since you said its for a swap, you're just buying a $6,500 very clean frame. Which is what I'm trying to say. But its your money and your time.

Last summer I found road side in Grand Rapids Michigan an absolutely mint W/B '90 vert. 42K on chassis & 8K on Atkins rebuild. Only thing that did not look new was the after market floor pads. I paid 4,400 and felt it was a fair price about at the max of realistic. Seller wanted 6,000

6,500 seems steep to me. However, any car is worth what ever some one is willing to pay for it.

he never said he was *going* to put a turbo motor in, he just said he could if he wanted to in comparison to the value of the otherwise mentioned vert.

If you can talk them down to 4.5k or 5k, it would be well worth it. I bought mine for 4k and the only difference between that one and mine was that mine needed a clutch. But the people I bought mine from were asking 5.8k.

the best vert i ever saw was kevin landers vert turbo he sold to a kid in FL. You could not tell that the t2 motor& drivetrain didn't come stock with everthing else on the car.

that is a very clean car....the guy really took care of it. i think i would talk him down to the high 5's. i bought a 90 vert for 4k and it even had a set of very nice 17's on it worth about 1500. it was a police siezed car....lucky me....and i know it worked well because when they caught him he was goin 109mph with drugs and a gun in the car.

Price still High

Maybe owner is going by blue book value, but in real world they just don't sell for that number.

^^ that blue book always make you feel good when you begin to sell your car. later it makes you pissed off becuase you already had that much money spent on your next project....justifying by the fact taht you'll replace the money spent when your car sells. Only....when your car sells you got about 50% of that blue book value. I wish those guys from the blue book would come and buy my car for what 'they' say its 'worth'. I'd make some good money.

With the 6k I could buy 3 FCs and have moeny left for rebuild kits for the motor that needs new o-ring, springs, seals......

Really clean S5 Vert's are worth as much and sometimes more than even a TII. I'd say hit it if you have the resources.

That car is beatiful still, if you get it, I'de be happy a good mechanic/aspiring rotary head gets it instead of some kid who beats the **** out of it, puts APC parts on it (no offense APC users), and the such.

Its worth it if you can maintain it they way it should be. Great car and I wish you luck on it.
