Glad you resolved your problem. I wonder though......if there is no bearing left, how did it bind up? Just asking. Rest of the bearing fall out as you pulled the transmission out?

I would of just rented a pilot bearing puller from autozone and "modified" it (just file/grind the end to fit the bearing race, it was too big for me and make sure to insert it and give make it tight in there) and pulled it out. If you still have that opportunity, I would go that way instead of scoring the e-shaft.

Else, grind it out as close as you can with a stone bit (or similar), after that use a softer grinding bit (sand paper roll bit). Here is where a puller would help (again), you need a way to separate both halves of the race using force.

the only suggestion is to use the dremel only in one spot to split the case,, if you go through,, the small area affected will not prevent you using another bearing

these can be a real PITA,, and just keep on going

other alternative is to pull down the engine and replace the shaft

Hailers, when i pulled the transmission out pieces came out and a ton of metal shavings. the only thing left was the case in which the bearings sit in. I

I own a pilot bearing tool kit, i ended up breaking it. So I had no choice but to start grinding away most of its grounded away but its so flush with e shaft im scared to go any further. I tried chiseling it, but the son of a gun wont give way. If I cant get this thing out im getting ready of the car all together. Motor only has 1200 miles on the rebuild
