which car should I put the engine in? new info.
Some of you may ave posted on my previous thread about which car I should swap my rebuilt turbo into, the 90 Turbo II or the 89 GXl.
well here is the score, GXl 109k Turbo 69k
Body:
gxl glossy, some dings and dents original paint
turbo dull, no dings or dents was red now black, when wet it is purple
Underbody:
GXL very minimal rust, little to no frame damage
turbo some rust, looks like someone bottomed the car out good or badly however you look at it.
Engine bay:
GXL clean as hell, shiney and black, nothing missing b/c I took it all out
Turbo paint missing, wiring cut in some places, paint dosent match.
Interior
GXl, carpet cut in a weird place, can see floor, some cracked pieces(idiot light bezel, etc).
turbo very nice, original floormats even look nice. Some holes where previous owner had stereo system worth more than the car.
Barring the fact the the Turbo is more rare than the GXL, which car should I sacrafice to get the other one up to 100%?

Sounds like it would be better swapping the engine into the GXL. Sounds like that car is in much better condition. Then I'd say swap whatever good interior parts from the turbo over into the GXL and you have yourself a very nice car.

I was leaning towards the turbo, until I saw all the underbody damage, I guess I will swap body panels and mabey doors when I get the engine all together.
note: the underside of the turbo II hit so hard when it was bottomed out that you can feel the ridge where it hit on the floor behind the seats. Can this be fixed easily?
