Car Not Starting - No Spark...
Hey Guys,
I have tried everything and read pratically every thread in the forum in regards to no spark.
I recently did a clutch change on my 88 vert and learned that the car's engine was changed. The person that re-assembled the engine bolted the block to the tranny before the upper and lower intake manifolds were bolted on and they threaded the top tranny bolt facing the tranny as opposed to threading it facing the engine block.
We had to take apart the upper intake manifold to get the bolt out in order to re-mount the tranny as it was making life difficult and hard to get the tranny back in with the bolt facing the tranny.
We installed the clutch, then the tranny and started to bolt everything back up. Tried to start the car and the car turns but does not start.
I have verifed like 15 times that all the wiring on the tranny and starter is connected properly. The CAS is connected properly also. We tested the coils to see what was happening with them, seems they are getting power but not getting spark to the plugs. There is definately fuel flowing to the engine.
I tried swapping out the ECU thinking that it was shorted out by accident and still nothing. Car turns freely but does not start. On a side note the tach does not bounce when we crank.
Bear in mind that this was a running daily driver NA vert that never gave any issues starting, flooding or any other problems. So far this has been one long clutch job.
Can someone please help me out on this with their thoughts, I am really baffled right now and cant think of nothing else to do to get this car running.
Your assistance is appreciated greatly.

Actually on the S4's the very top bellhousing bolt, is threaded thru the block with the head on the engine side. This is the one that is slotted on the end.
Anyway you need to check all your fuses, you could have easily blown one of them. Also make sure you have the grounds connected.

Any reason why that top bolt is threaded through the block with the head on the engine side?
I am pretty sure that I have all my grounds connected properly. I am going to go and check all my ground wires tonight and make sure that nothing for kinked and broke off when we were re-installing the tranny. There is a possibility that we kinked a wire and its only making contact by a few strands and it could be what is preventing the car from starting...
Thanks for your help though.... much appreciated...
