Car idled then died.....

Okay, i finally got my car started today, once i got it started it idled, at about 3000 and then died, what i think it is might be an ignition problem trying to keep it alive, cause it wasn't like a sputter, like the sparks are tryin to keep the engine running, but more of like a (Okay, i quit!) kind of cut off, so what am i to do? Bye new coils, i just bought new spark plugs lastnight, that's the reason i think i got the car started in the first place.....but if anyone knows of what i could do, please help....

Vacuum leak wouldnt cause an instant shut down like that. Timing woulf though. That is an easy fix though. If you want more answers let me know.

Actually, something not right in the intake tract that is causing the fuel pump to shut back off (AFM not plugged in, etc..) is more of what he is possibly seeing. And if it IS a timing issue, why hasnt the timing been fixed? Its not like its rocket science..

Thats what I was saying....If you really want to fix it, it takes to people. One to turn the crank angle sensor and the other to turn the key. pull it out first to make sure it is aligned. then put it back in a turn it till it starts

Um...this may be a stupid question....but where is your air filter assembly? If you dont have one...THAT could be the problem. If you dont have the mass Airflow sensor hooked up...it wont start unless you have the ECU remapped

Well, i've bought it just how it is, and it was running really good until one day my car wouldn't start and it came out being something to do with the ignition, do you think that may still be the problem....but when it wasn't starting by just turning the key, i could just run a wire staright from the battery to the coils and it'll fire right up, but it just doesn't do that anymore....now i have a toggle switch in the cab to do that exact same thing....

Um yes....you really need to get that air fliter/mass air sensor in ther. It will cause the problems you are having right now. go to www.mazdatrix.com they have what you need there

it is a carbed 13b, you can kind of make out the distibutor to the right, no MAF needed because there is no injectors...
