Car going vroom...ppuuut...vroom/J-spec owners

Ok, my car is confusing the hell out of me. It is quite cold in Maine and I am without a garage so I need help for this spring. I bought my 89 GTU N/a late last year. Two things happened, the plugs fouled and I drove it for a bit. Did this do anything to the motor? Also now on startup I get a puf of smoke that smells like gas however, it doesn't linger. Another thing is this may not be all that bad since I don't know how much Rx-7s smoke. It will hold both rad fluid and oil so I am not leaking. Also I popped the overflow cap while it was running and no bubbles along with that there is nothing but oil in the oil pan. Next there is oil leaking out of around the filter. This must be the o rings that sit in the filter. I have ordered them so I can fix it. Next, I was wondering if a malfunctioning Oil pump would do this and if so how much do they cost? I don't want to run premix. I also have a small exaust leak and I was wondering how bad it is for the motor? Also I want to hear everyone's take on J-spec engines; both good and bad Also all Mainers out there I want to know if they changed our "no emission laws" laws? If we need our stupid stock **** I am going to just gut the damn precats

have you changed the oil since the leak started? chances are that the leak coming from around the filter is because the filter isn't sealing correctly. change your oil and your filter and see if that fixes it.
