Car feels slow at top end
My first turbo rx7 WAS a streetported car, but my current turbo II barely pulls on a stock NON SI 08 civic....
Im seeing no dip in boost pressure (about 9lbs). im running a stock turbo. Only modifications are the downpipe and no cat and a FCD. In the last few weeks the turbo has started to consume alot of oil. You can see it on the compressor housing all over and out the exhaust if i get on it. The clutch could probably use replacing as well being that its original.
Would that really make it THAT slow? Things don't seem to be adding up. Compression appears fine (all even puffs)

driver?
you said your turbo was passing oil...that's never a good thing
I didn't have trouble beating the new Si's with my set up
(same as yours except I have a cat)
but then again some people really suck at driving!
the new si at my local track were only pulling 15 flat, 14.8 here and there not much of a threat just be weary of the new camry damn that things fast (the v6's were doing 14.5 haha)
btw if the clutch is slow at sycning back up, yea that's your problem for sure

the civic in question in my girlfriends car and learned how to drive 5spd about 1.5 months ago. Shes got the hang of it, but she is no Ashley Force.
i was planning on giving the car a good go over once i picked up something else to driver, which should be in the next few weeks (yea for more turbo dodges!).

not really beat, but putting a car length on her takes awhile.
but going back to the clutch....
i know its original. (figure about 100k or more on it). And you can not break the tires loose 1 - 2 regardless. And if you try it usually smells like burnt clutch.

that old clutch sounds like its not letting u put any power down. when ur in gear and u step on it does it rev up faster than it should and then go back down when u let go?
