cant start my car

i cannot get my car started. it will start however only after it floods and removing and replacing spark plugs but thats just because there is so much extra fuel in there. i even disconnected the fuel and it started for a while. once i got it to start with the fuel connected but it wouldnt idle and had much afterburn. im pretty sure the timing is right on but i could be mistaken. and i can here the fuel lines leak air or something but i think im getting too much fuel. One more thing it feels like it is about to start all the time too but once again i think from all the excess fuel. any suggestions would help wonderfully

Check your fuel injectors, they might be stuck open.
If they're bad, replace them or get them cleaned and flow tested.
Witchhunter.com is great for cleaning.

Try pumping the gas rapidly when you are cranking it and then let go of the key as soon as it starts to catch. Don't ask me why but it works for me, maybe when you push the gas in it cuts fuel or something, I don't really know

It does sound like his injectors are in bad shape. Witchhunter has a pretty fast turn-around, but if you need to wait until you can take a week of downtime while they get cleaned, you can try fuel injector cleaner additives. It might make it a bit easier to start until you can find the time.

Brand new, as in, JUST rebuilt? Freshly rebuilt units tend to be pretty hard to start, only because until the seals seat the engine doesn't build as much compression.

yea just rebuilt by rx7world. and now i can get it to start but only for like a second but this was the first time it started with everything in place then i couldnt get it to start again, think it flooded. how can i get compression in to the engine manually. i figure just rotating the engine by the pulleys would work. i guess ill get back to work. ill look back later for advice

Sounds like a couple of problems.

No idle sounds greatly like vacuum leaks, rather large ones. There are 2 good ways to seek them out. Both will require another person to keep the car running for you. The first is to take a stethoscope or a piece of vacuum tubing and listen to all the various joints and lines for hissing air. The hissing air is your leak. Another way is take carb cleaner and spray it on all possible leaking points. While doing that, listen for the idle picking up. The cleaner will briefly create a seal over the leak boosting the idle.

Your other problem with coolant needs to be fixed too. There are a couple of coolant lines that run the back of the throttle body. While you're rummaging around looking for vacuum leaks, see exactly where it's leaking and tighten/replace the hose at fault. As for the hot, your thermostat might be in bad shape and isn't opening. If it hasn't been replaced within the last couple years, you probably should. Go through the mazda dealership for that.

Oh, and when i recently went through all this, it was 10x easier with the hood off. just fyi

And for future reference, what year/model are you working with? turbo or na?
