from 3K till 3500RPM's it gets super rich... my wideband reads 9:4 and bounces around in the 9's until secondaries kick on...it started about a month ago and i cant fugure out why???
550 primaries were cleaned in august last summer....
mods in sug.
im running a boost sensor and a AFM from a TII also

BTW...my readings are fine before and after this...
i can be in the high 10's to very low 11's on my wideband but as soon as i hit 3K...it gets stupid rich....
could my injectors be dirty already?
i tried taking fuel out VIA my SAFCII but i dont want to go to lean with it and it decides to stop this problem...i can go as far as -20 and it changes nothing...
im trying to do the error code check now to see if it pops anything up..

I "lost" my emissions....
thats interesting, i always thought you'd get the best gas mialag arounf there, what with the secondarys coming on there, i figured that'd be the lean spot.
interesting...

I also have that rich spot:
Turbo II dyno-sheet with AFR's
My theory is that it's the fault of the R-Tek 1.7 chip we're both running--which lowers the staging point of the secondary injectors and I *think* does a bad job of smoothing the transition... We got screwed by the chip, lol.
Do you get that thing where you're just trying to cruise peacefully at 3k RPM's on the freeway and you just start bucking intermittently?

sometimes it will do its thing earlier than 3K, sometimes it wont...as soon as the secondaries kick on...its gone....i get pretty bad bucking in this situation...really lose some power..but after that..its fine...
also if i get on it at full throttle up until around 5K and let off to about half throttle i get bad hesitation..it doesnt go away unless i completely let off the throttle or barely press the throttle

its horrible when you need to climb really steep hills like i have around here..you try it in 3rd gear at 3K and it just hesitates like there is no tommorow...
I either have to grab 2nd and get up to speed to get past 3K for 3rd gear or i have to go to 4th so it stays below 3K...

my guess is that the rtek 1.7 is the cause of the problem.....i have a very similar set up..and yes...everytime i let off gas after boosting around that rpm range i get a huge backfire......im not sure why it suddenly started a month ago..but the rich spot has always been there

so we got 3 rtek's with the problem?..
hmmmm
i copied this thread and added it to my previous post in the rtek forum under 1.7 problems...it might have always been there and i was never aware of it becuase i only had it for about 2 weeks (the rtek chip) before i noticed it..
and torean? do you get the rich spot under full throttle also besides when you let off the gas?

to much fuel can be a bad thing also...i just dont think it is much to worry about since its a quick shot of fuel dumping...BUT..what if i was to climb a hill and be at 3K for to long??
i whish i could just deal with it.....it bugs the hell outta me...lol

sorry about the delay....i cant answer for sure(since i have no way of measuring the a/r)...but when i let off at any other rpm the engine does not backfire..only when i let off within that rpm range.........also...sometimes i get the bad hesistation/bucking when im around that rpm range tying to accelerate....IMO...the rtek 1.7 runs very rich in all rpm...i usually have problems in the morning when i start it up and have to sorta clear the engine(rev in neutral) to get rid of the fuel before it would rev right...

i dont see why my SAFC cant take it out?? any other part of the RPM's i can add or take out fuel just fine... just not in this very spot...
i got me a code checker for this very reason and i get no codes at all!!
no worries about the delay..

i also have this poblem.. i just bought the rtek a few weeks ago.... took a road trip and i couldnt get the AFRS to calm down at a certain speed while on the street mileage has improved dramatically. i have an safc2 as well... but im running 4x720s no reason why i shouldnt be able to get rid of that rich spot..... drives me freaking nuts with the bucking at 3450.... im thinking thats moer the big primaries from the rtek and the safc not changing over at the precise 3500.. a lil gap in control from the safc or rtek (meaning that electronically 3500 for the ecu is not 3500 for the safc). but yeah umm that rich spot is there.....the throttle pedal fuel cut also doesnt work as advertised on my car.. but im guessin this is just my car

my car with a stock ecu does the same exact thing. Maybe not so bad and it's really only noticable at light throttle but you'll hear it bog down, buck..etc. get up past 3800 and hang on for dear life. Always been curious what it was.
