Can a mod NA take a '02 Celica GT?

Just a GT, you should be able to take it. They have 140HP, and its all above like 6k. Now a GTS has 180HP, and is capable of high 14s, but you really gotta know what your doing to get it that fast.

you can take a GT easily, and you can also take an auto GT-S, but i doubt a stock N/A can beat a manual GT-S

I don't know but I just ran my friend's GT and we were close up to 2nd gear. After third gear he left me with about 2 car length. I think it's my torque! My headers' killing my low end. Also, my 6-port is not working and I get hesitation above 4K RPM.

Don't understimatre the GT, yes it only has 140HP but they weight somewhere around 2500lbs!!

Now with all of those mods, you should have dusted him!! Is your SAFC setup? How's your compression? Sis you raced him from a roll? Was he running nos?

No NOS or anything. He's bonestock. I know I could have taken him if the straight was long enough to get my power up to a hgiher RPM. My S-AFC was leaned out to 14.5:1. I don't know if my hesistation was because it was running lean or because of my belt slipping (btw, I posted another thread for that). I know its my torque that killed me!!!

How much HP did you put out!!

They don't have that much TQ.......... I raced once a friends GT from a dead stop. He hooked up right away and I stayed on the same place pretty much, while my tires where trying to bite the asphalt. By the end of 2nd gear I recover a lot of lost time, but we had to shut it because of lack of street. I'm sure that by third gear he would've seen my tags.......

And I put out 153 at the wheels too at the dyno!!! Aarrgg... what could be wrong? I know it's not me

Damn 6-ports!!! I can't do anything now since my air pump is gone. I can't make my Summit racing RPM switch to work too for my electronic 6-port project. Oh well, I guess, it's really time for a turbocharge NA.

Wired them open, but first make sure that they are not working!! 153hp is pretty good, was it with working 6 ports? factory air pump?

Nope, 6-port wasn't working when I got it dynoed. If I do wire them open, I'm gonna loose more low end.

Yes you will, nut if they are closed all the time you loose A LOT of power up high.........

What the ****? Dude, the ports dont take that much power away when they are open. They are hurting you WAY more closed than they every will open, seriously.

I dont think id waste my time with a GT even with all basic bolt ons. In my 240, I raced my friends and by the end of 2nd I was about 8 or 9 car lengths ahead, and at the time I serously didnt know if he was racing or not. I dont see any reason why a modded NA cant literally drive away from a GT.

I took a gts a while ago in ROYJAMES' car before it was his haha streetracing the night before i went into the army.... seriously i took it but it was a race and with a modded GTS it would be down to the wire

I noticed you have a bonez intake... the biggest problem with these is the damn install instructions. If you kept the AFM, make sure you have the connector side facing up. I put the damn AFM in upside down and got crazy hesitation after 4k. Bless that reTed man for putting so much useful information on the net. After flippin that sum'bitch around it pulls REALLY nice.

hey people i was taking a drive in the country at around 70mph in a 45mph zone, a bmw pulls up on me so i jump up around 80mph and he stays there so i go up to 100mph and took a 45° angel and that made his tires skip , i was laughing all the way home that my $2,310 all stack automatic N/A rx7 cleaned a bmw's plow !!! i think the speed scared him , i had a $600 radar dector on thats why i went so fast , fun day!

If you where 8 or 9 car lengths ahead by the end of 2nd gear, there can only be a few options:

1. Dude was still standing at the light, checking out the hotties, when you drove off.

2. You where driving a Viper and he was in a Model-T.

3. You guys where actually playing GT3 and his controller wasn't working.

4. He wasn't racing.

There just isn't that much of a power difference between a 240SX and a Celica GT for you to be that much ahead after 2 gears.

celicaGT: 140-5?

I think he was exaggerating. Late model 240's are fast with bpu's though.
