California SMOG question

I have a street ported rebuild that's setup with a BONEZ Hi Flow CAT and DP...theres no pre-cat. I was wondering if this will pass if all other emission equipment is ok? If not...does the pre-cat make a big difference?

you *can* pass without a precat, just warm the car up before doing the test.. depends on how agressive the porting is though.

and you may want to read up on getting your smog pump flowing directly into your cat.

I hear people bypass the ACV and run the pump direct, but will that pass visual?

The precat is only effective after cold starting. Once the engine warms up the precat does practically nothing and is just restrictive. So just make sure your car is nice and warmed up and hookup the smog pump to the high flow cat.

You will pass visual and like everyone said, make sure your **** is warmed up. If you want to be sure, just hook up the air pump and feed it into a bung at the bottom of your DP or just before the cat. I have mine setup so it looks stock with a stainless steel line going to my midpipe then when Im done I just plug the bung i made until next time =o) I have no cats, just a dummy to pass visual and I still passed.

Ok, Im going to see what I can do to give it a stock look. The only bad thing is everything in the engine bay is shinny candy apple red...looks nice, but doesnt scream stock so I know I need to do all I can to pass visual. I JUST WANT HER ON THE ROAD AGAIN....and dont want to worry about SMOG..CA SMOG SUCKS!!!

...I feel better now.
