a/c and p/s removal question (bolt trouble)
ok so my ps leaks like a sieve and my ac never worked, so OUT THEY COME!
now, i started ripping stuff apart, got the p/s pump out by removing bolts and plates and bolts etc. got all the hoses off the a/c pump. got the top 2 bolts off the ac pump.
how can i get the bottom 2 off? apparently i need to remove the a/c pump to get the p/s and a/c bracket off the engine? i cant fit my 3/8" ratchet on the bottom bolts!
can i get the bracket off without removing the a/c pump?

It looks like you have already got the ps pump off (top componet) if I read your post right. There are 4 bolts on the side of the A/C compressor (between fender wall and compressor) that a 14mm box end wrench will remove. Once the compressor is out of the way its easy as pie to remove the front bracket nuts.
I was able to remove the two bracket nuts with a box end wrench with the A/C compressor loose but hoses still attached, and the power steering pump still attached to the bracket. Remove the front rotor spark plug wires and you can rotate the wrench through a small area from the fire wall side of the bracket.
Hope this helps

ok JUST for everyones info
when your removing your p/s you have to plug the rack where the lines went in. common knowledge that you need two 12mm x 1.25 pitch for the return/feed line holes, and one 16mm x 1.50 pitch for the "cooler" hole.
too bad they have to be less than 15mm long. well its a real pita to find the 16mm anyway, but the 12mm that short are hard to find too... some people use NPT fittings, i just got a better idea today
picked up some oil drain plugs from the parts store i work at. two 12mm x 1.25 and one 16mm x 1.5
cost me about $3, and they are nice and short.
just letting everyone know thats probably your easiest, better fitting, and cleanest looking route.
