A/C charging high PSI
Hey guys I went to charge my A/c the other day, It was about 104 out, I bought a can of juice.
I turned the a/c on full blast let it run, the compressor kicked on before i even sprayed any freon in. When i connected to the low port i had a low psi rating, I started adding some freon and after about 45 seconds the psi was way up in the red danger zone like 100 psi, So i stopped. Do you think it was due to it being so hot and humid out?
I had minimal cool air comming out not enough to really make closing the windows an option.
Should i evacuate the system then try again or just try again when it's cooler out?
If i need to evacuate is there an easy wa to do it or just go to a shop?

if im not mistaken, last time i charged my a/c it did the same thing.. during initial charging, the pressure may go up really high, but if you close the valve, the pressure should go back down to below 45 or so. if it goes back down, just open it back up and let it charge and the pressure should stabilize. if it stays high after you turn the charging valve off, you may need a new compressor. check the high side pressure and if there is little difference between high/low, that will confirm a bad compressor. it also helps if you have a fan or something blowing toward the front of the car.. you want a lot of flow to the condenser when charging

my dad works on AC and instead of reading pressures, on the hood is says how many lb of refrigerant to use. he took out all of the refrigerant and then put the tank on a scale and put freon in until it was 2 lb lighter.
