bypass oil meetering pump

I really need some info on bypassing my burnt out oil meetering pump. I heard it can be done fairly easily but i want the specifics so i dont f-it up. I also need to get the ratio for mixing the fuel after I bypass the pump. please help!!!!! The car is a 91 non-turbo in mint con but it needs to get on the road again. I dont have the $ to buy another pump right now because I already replaced it once and the replacement was junk.heeeelllpppp!!!

Forget it, you need a new pump. 89-91s (S5s) go into Limphome mode without a working OMP.

It can't be done. You need to replace the pump. Sorry. Your only other choice is to go to an aftermarket ECU, which would cost quite a bit more than a used metering oil pump.

You can use the stock pump and disable its' pumping capabilities. Although the pump would need to be in good working order to begin with. You need to remove all of the internals except the plate and spring that run through the middle. You also must leave the electrical components. The ECU only monitors the motor and the sensor which monitors the motor too. Nothing monitors the amount of oil flow so cutting the oil flow off completely has no ill effect on the ECU. I have been running my series 5 this way for a few months now with no troubles. But AAron is right; there is no simple way other than what I described. I can answer just about any question you have on this subject; I spent a good bit of time trying to figure this out.

Find one good motor out of your two junk OMPs.

Find one good sensor out of your two junk OMPs

Take the cleanest housing of the two junk OMPs

Put the sensor and motor on the clean housing

You need to keep the plate that has the 2 inch rod sticking out of it along with the spring that goes around the rod. You also need to keep that steel dowl-pin that holds the plate in place. The rest of the internals can go in the trash.

You need one ounce of oil for one gallon of gas. Make sure it's TC-W3
