Building up an FC right the first time. Updated list. Looking for Input!!

So far the prelude of tune-up, is done, my E6X is in the mail so to speak, next step fuel . Any input or ideas to add or contest? Please feel free to give me some feedback guys!!

Just 9 more to go, even though several of those have multiple aspects!!

Original Post slightly changed:

Alright, after reading here for the past couple months I have seen quite a few things. The most common one however is people trying to leapfrog ahead of the essentials when modifying their cars and popping their engines. My proposal is to start opposite of the way it seems most people take and I was wondering if I could get some input. Now seeing as how I am a full-time college student part-time work, it is going to be tough to get the funds so it may take me a while. Here is my plan to do an FC right:

Before any mod's come in, I am going to do a full tune-up. Replace all my filter's etc. I want the car to be running stock by the time I start modding it. Clean the BAC all the small maintenance things that can be done in order to prevent problems down the road.

Number One:
The first thing I intend to buy is a standalone setup. I am swaying back and forth between the Haltech and Microtech, but I know that the first major upgrade I wish to make is going to be this. The main reason is that it seems like the last thing people do usually is go standalone and in result they have gone through about 3-4 motors already. I don't want to cheat myself and use an S-AFC because if I am going to spend 350$ I may as well as spend 1000$ and just have that out of the way. While I am taking everything apart I was thinking a nice grounding kit would be in order, and to replace all the hoses with silicone ones.

First and a half:
Actually I just didn't want to go fix all the numbers, I was thinking a nice rebuild using two piece RA seals and a MILD SP nothing insane I just want to it to run healthy!

Second:
I want to do fuel modifications. Upgraded pump, preferably the TeamFC3s.org competition pump, but I may just go with a Walboro. Then upgraded injectors. I have no plans of leaning out and popping. I want to make sure I have enough fuel for nearly any setup I finally come to rest on.

Third:
I will be replacing the clutch with someone a little more sturdy. Something that will be willing to hold the power I will be putting out in the end. I was thinking the Act Street/Strip? While replacing the clutch I was thinking the 13 lb. Racing Beat Light-weight flywheel.

Fourth:
I am going to remove my A/C and relocate the battery to behind the passenger seat using some sort of vented box. Getting rid of the extra weight and freeing up my engine bay of all the clutter. Take care of the TB mod while I am in there!

Fifth:
With all the changes being made to the engine, fuel and cooling now would be a good time to get some gauges, don't you think? Boost, Oil Pressure, Temp, I know someone was thinking of making a cycling LCD unit that would take the temps of 9 different locations in the FD section maybe I will look into that.

Sixth:
I will be adding a Greddy V-Spec FMIC, Koyo Rad, and E-Fan. Thus eliminating all of my cooling enemies! My basic plan of attack if you haven't noticed is get every big item out of the way that people tend to put off.

Seventh:
Though it isn't power related it is DEFINITELY a performance enhancement. A new suspension, yet to be decided on, the works as well. Strut bars, sway bars, rear toe eliminators, everything! I was thinking a nice Tein what do you guys think?

Eighth(when you think about it Eighth it spelled freaking crazy! 4 consonants in a row!:
I am going to do what most people do as their most primary upgrade. Free up the Exhaust and Intake. With the current modifications there should be no fear of running lean. I am thinking a full RB Turbo-back, and HKS power flo intake. I mean I would love a Greddy SP but with all I have already listed I have to try to be just a teeny-bit realistic!

Ninth:
Now is where I am hoping it will get REALLY fun . At the end I am planning on getting a nice BNR Stage III Turbo Upgrade. The reason I was planning on a BNR is because it is a very conservative setup in my opinion and more than enough power for the time-being. I was also thinking maybe get an HKS external wastegate for a later higher horsepower turbo setup. After all this I am hoping to have:

NOT: Cheap, and Reliable, but not Fast
NOT: Cheap, and Fast, but Unreliable

but

Fast, and Reliable, but not cheap

Hopefully within 2-3 years everything I have listed will be finished. This isn't set in stone or anything but it is a pretty clear idea of what I want. I wanted to hear some input from you guys? I am basically doing the reverse of what most people do it seems in the beginning. I want all the reliability mods before power, so that I know the car can handle the power.

I am still relatively stupid in my ways but this was the setup that I figured to be the most common sense by reading and searching my *** off, on everything FC. I mean, to say it is my setup, or my idea, is kinda messed up, because it is all taken directly from reading others posts. I just compiled it all into my own little list.

So if anything in here is wrong....don't blame me I got these ideas from you guys! lol. But seriously any feedback and if anyone can come up with a better list I would be happy to see it. I want a Fast and Reliable 7, and I want to do it right the first time.

Thanks everyone, all the knowledge I have on 7's is mainly, from reading posts of this and other message boards. And of course tinkering around with my own car!

Oh and I forgot! New tires.....yeahhhhh that'd be sweet. lol. Have a great day everyone!

PS. Sorry my post is so dreadfully long. (and I am sure I missed stuff, this was just off the top of my head right now, so please don't get mad if I said anything, or missed anything stupid!)

As a question what do you think would be a relatively safe assumed hp output, RWHP not flywheel, with this hypothetical setup. I want my motors to stick around for a while, I was thinking 300 - 325 RWHP does this seem like a safe estimate?

If you are doing all that, I hape you have a TON of money to spend on it. However, it will be bad *** and you should make far more than 325 RWHP when its done. All you really need for that is a BNR Stage II (a few people have gotten up to 320 HP on the stock TMIC with one of these), bigger injectors and pump, and a way to control the fuel. A standalone is a good idea for this. BTW...you forgot a few things. You will need to port your wastegate before you do intake and exhaust, and then you will want a boost controller to up the boost.

Yeah I meant to add that I was going to port the wastegate in #9 I just forgot. I am going to exchange the S4 stocker turbo for an s5 just so I have the better wastegate and lack of twin scroll. I don't have tons of money but I have a long time limit set. 3 years should be PLENTY. Considering I already have the thing that is put off till last, and the next couple things are the wallet-killers, I should be able to complete all listed in the projected amount of time.

Personaly I would do the suspension a lot sooner. What do you want to use the car for? Don't think of wheels and tires as an after thought, they can significantly change how your car feels.

I want to use the car for the occasional auto-x (5 or 6 times a year) and to have it as a generally fast and reliable streetable car.

BNR: http://www.rx7store.net/index.asp?Pa...S&Category=364

Just kidding .

By the way for 275-325 at the wheels and the aforementioned setup what kind of injectors do you guys think would be appropriate.
