Building a quiet true dual setup.

pp13bnos: Well I wish I had the money to buy two RB presilncers, but I don't. So I think those magnaflow might help quiet things down, if I use two per pipe then maybe a racing beat rear muffle. That basicly six mufflers total.. and I think that should keep things pretty quiet. But since I just "think" it will quiet things down.. I want oppions from people how have a simlar setup and tell me there sound levels.
How load was your car at idle, and at cruising? And what was your setup?

Basicly, a true duel setup. RB road race header into the 2 RB pre-silencers. I tried to keep them as close to the engine as possiable. Then dual 2" mandrel bent exhaust all the way to the RB rear mufflers. It was quite enough for my wife (Not into loud cars.) to drive. Sounded realy great. I had lots of compliments on the sound. I've heard louder single exhuast, than my dual. Keep in mind, the muffler location will greatly effect sound. Rob Golden@Pineapple told me how far out to put the mufflers, what size of tubing, and what to expect. The car made great power. 167rwhp on mustang dyno, vs my 161rwhp in my Rx-8! CJ

I am getting my exhaust upgraded, and was considering the rb roadrace header, with presilencers right after it.
RB quote: " If you are planning on using two (2) Power Pulse Presilencers in conjunction with our Road Racing Header for a long primary system on a 1989-92 6-port engine, we recommend using two (2) of our standard presilencers (Part No. 16400) used on 4-port engines."
Are they saying that because the 16400's are cheaper, and they do the job? Will then the original power pulse presilencers do a "Better" job?
Just still figuring out mufflers, and how far to put them, probabally all the way at the back of the car like normal...later

I would be compelled to say that it would be expensive if not impossible. To cancel out noise you need to have a tube shaped to produce a frequency level that cancels out the undesired frequencies. To do this and maintain the flow of true duals, as well as keeping heat down is going to cost you a pretty penny, and whatever you get probably won't last very long.
That's just my opinion. clearly.
BTW pp13bnos's post is here. Title was pretty obvious

Well, I was getting tired of the car always breaking on my wife. It would never break on me...just whenever my wife drove it. I ended up putting the car back to stock, and trading it in. I tried and tried to sell the dual exhaust, but no one wanted it. I ended up selling the entire thing for $250. I replaced the car with a Rx-8. CJ

SureShot has a mp3 of his cheap homemade true dual setup it's in his sig and i found this old true dual thread (2nd post):

I don't remember how loud it is, and my roommate is asleep so i can't listen to it right now. Just be sure to turn your speakers all the way up.

Besides bragging rights, I still can't understand why anyone would ever want a true dual set-up. Well I agree that true duals would be better than a crappy collected system, a properly designed collected header will always give a much better torque band, and give less weight and backpressure.
Don't even bother arguing this; anyone with any basic knowledge of fluids will understand why this is true.
