ya not bad at all!
i bought my 60-1 from here for 125
then bought the .82 ar housing from here for 125
so pretty close, if ppl tried they could def save some bucks.
ya the stealth is nice, but having my slightly large 60-1 poking out makes ppl say ''damn'' a little more often, i kinda like hearing that.

and it is done
Please excuse the blurry pictures. snapped on the kitchen floor during night time.

I think the problematic area has to be this housing ear

Shaved it up with a cut off wheel. Really close to the lower intake manifold.

Trimmed some of the actuator mount with the cut off wheel to clear the bottom oil return line. Excuse the run off lol, Didnt really think much of it while I was cutting, could have been prettier. I perhaps removed more then what would have been necessary to get the job done but oh well not bad. I wish the actuator barb was facing at least north west but that would require drilling a new pair of holes into the bracket and Im not sure I want to do anymore to the bracket that might affect its structural integrity.

The wastegate arm has to be bent. The important part is to make the rod area just outside of the actuator as straight as possible in my opinion.

Drilled and tapped the housing for the vacuum fitting elbow barb. I cut some length off the threaded end so it wouldn't stick out too much and applied red loctite.

Glad to get this done. now it is onto rebuilding my motor.. Just waiting for some tools to come in.

i have to rebuild my motor, it is out. Just waiting for a 2 1/8 socket that I ordered to arrive then I will be taking it apart, inspecting and measuring parts and ordering what is needed. Also doing a medium streetport job.

Once I finish the motor, its off to babying and break in period. Wont really be able to push this turbo until I upgrade fuel injectors and ecu, and sadly I won't do that until funds pick up. So might still be a while.

Nice work Hypertek.

Are you able to put up some pics of your wastegate porting by any chance?

And out of curiosity, if the to4b you bought wasnt seized, how would that turbo have performed on a 13b motor with its larger exhaust side?

I have no idea, on both questions above on hp levels with full t04b or t70. would be north of 300hp thats for sure. This to4b i got wasnt a watercooled turbo. Just oil, and id guess it seized from a head gasket failure allowing water to mix with oil.

As for the ported wastegate, typical port job

and as suggested by others, shaving the wastegate door for more clearance against the plate. Also shaved some material off the plate.

have you test fitted it to see if it will clear the lower intake manifold

So what size p-trim can we use if we have out turbine housing machined? I am seriously considering doing this and going with a p-trim turbine wheel.

P-trim is a set size of T4 turbine.

I guess it's time to do some shopping. Looks like I should be able to do this for about half the cost of getting the BNR.

yep.. since my previous BB hybrid turbo experiment is having some work done to it, in the meantime i built an equivalent to BNR stage 4 (60-1 hifi compressor, P-trim turbine) brand new for under $400. Gpopshop did the milling on the turbine housing, but i ordered all the hardware from these guys, they may also do the milling too:

http://turbocharged.com/main.htm

bnr clips the p-trim wheel to keep boost creep down, but i like the faster response of an unmolested wheel

Did they send it balanced or was the compressor and turbine side shipped seperately?

Does it matter if I get the big or standard shaft for the turbo?

As mentioned, you need a wheel for a standard shaft. Any of the "Super" trim wheels like Super-V or Super-H are big shaft, so avoid them.

Depends on the housing, but they usually have a 3" inlet.

I guess I should have been more specific. The 1/8" or 1/4" added for the wastegate or whatever it is. Bryan adds a brass mpt fitting on it.
