build your own hybrid turbo?

So rebuilding a turbo can't be THAT incredibly hard. Is there any way that I personally for a few hundred bucks can replace the turbo bearing(s) and gaskets (to rebuild it), and grab myself a new turbine and/or compressor blade and put that in when I put it back together?

btw I've got a S5 TurboII

If you're lucky, it'll be balanced enough to not kill itself to death.

The turbo really needs to be dynamically balanced. It takes a multi-million dollar VSR machine to do the dynamic balance, and this is why rebuilds and comp upgrades cost so much from a reputable shop.
