Unhappy Broken wire on Solenoid Valve (BAC).. Effects??

My wiring is geting old and fragile..
1 of the wires going into the BAC electrical connector has broken off.

Will this affect the cars performance?

I think it has affected the warm-up when you start the car.
If it only affects the startup i know i can live with that.

Today i also ran out of gas and by mistake i put a gallon of 87 octane in and now it backfires a bit more.
I think i will run that out and then put 91 in as usual.

took the car for a drive just now and it seems when i slow down the engine cuts out for a brief moment and then runs again fine.
i also notice more backfiring
it used to only be when i push the car and then shift.
but now i just let off the throtle and it backfires 1 or 2 times.

i will want to fix that wire just for peace of mind.

Go to this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=85062 There are several references to the factory manual and what the inputs are for your car. In the meantime try to protect the bare wire on the broken harness. Splices can be had at the auto store to repair it.

On the whole the bac maintains the 750 idle speed even when electrical loads are put on the engine. An example that you might try since the bac isn't working right now, is to warm the car up and let it idle. Now turn the headlights on. The idle will fall and not recover to whatever your idle was at prior to the lights being turned on. Same with the a/c if you have it.

The bac would have maintained your idle at whatever speed the car was originaly idling at.
