broken Transmission shift mount

How do I remove and replace this? The maintenance manual says to twist it off but it doesn't show that rusty tube being on there.

How the hell did that break? That entire tailshaft housing should unbolt with about 10 bolts holding it to the main case. You need to remove the shifter assembly from the shift control rod first. Get a hold of the FSM. It's probably easier to get another trans.

He has a n/a trans that he's swapping the tail casing from onto the pictured trans which is t2. it was broken when removing the engine from the car with the shifter in place.
